Restaurant & Catering Industry reveals the 2008 winners for Far North Queensland

 

One hundred and fifty restaurant and catering industry representatives, friends and family gathered at the Cairns International Hotel to hear the announcement of the winners and finalists of the 2008 Restaurant and Catering Queensland HOSTPLUS Far North Queensland Awards for Excellence last night.
 

The coveted ‘Restaurant of the Year’ category was won by Tamarind Restaurant at the Sofitel Reef Casino for the Best Fine Dining Restaurant. The other major category for the night was Caterer of the Year and this award went to Port Douglas Catering for Best Event Caterer and Best Wedding Caterer.

The 14 establishments who were presented with winners’ plaques were beaming from ear to ear as they celebrated their success long after the event wrapped up.

Naming Rights sponsor HOSTPLUS is a passionate supporter of all those involved in the hospitality trade and wish all winners the best of luck in the State and National Award nights.

The Far North Queensland winners will compete at the State level where winners will be announced at the State Awards Night to be held at Suncorp Stadium, Brisbane on Monday 15th September and if successful will then compete at the National level to be announced at the National Awards Night on Monday 27th October at the Brisbane Convention and Exhibition Centre.
